The Showroom (Part One)
WELCOME TO THE FIRST COUNTEREV BLOG.
Starting this blog brings to mind an old Cracker lyric, "What the world needs now is another folk singer like I need a hole in my head". I kind of feel that way about blogs. But since I like some folk singers, and I occasionally am one, I guess that logic doesn't really hold up. (I'm pretty sure Cracker frontman, Dave Lowery, likes some folk singers too.)
I'm hoping this space will be a place for those interested in our company to feel a little closer to our showroom, especially if you can't make it into Manhattan any time soon. Our showroom, which opened on Earth Day of this year, is not just a backdrop for our most popular and newest pieces, it's also an event space, a small live music venue and a sanctuary, if you will, created with an obsessive desire to use reclaimed materials in new ways and allow people to experience their effect on an interior space.
We took over the 1600 square foot space above Basta Pasta on 17th St about a year ago. Six months later, the transformation was complete, or at least as complete as it needed to be to officially open. So, I'd like to launch the CounterEv Blog with a few before and after shots to whet your appetite for what's to come. Stay tuned for more highlights from the showroom buildout, product spotlights, music and event highlights, and more.
And as always, thanks for your interest in CounterEv!
